I know I said that Spring has sprung in the Midwest, but how do we know?
I can’t believe I am even saying this but I miss our usual “first sign of Spring”.
It’s usually right THERE.
The annual emergence of the weird metal thing.
Every year, for every year that we’d been a shop, a strange metal pipe thing popped up out of the ground in the driveway of the city parking lot next to the shop.
Every year, the city came to cut it off. Even the city didn’t really know what the heck it was. They just cut it off again, and we waited until Spring sprang another year.

Shout out to Carly for meticulously documenting our weird metal thing emergence over the years, so we could have it for the Darn Knit Anyway shop archives.
Ever since the city repaved the parking lot, our weird metal thing has failed to arrive. Sigh. Well, we’re calling it Spring anyway:)
Happy Spring all!
