I am sick to death of 12 sweaters in 12 months.

Why didn’t someone warn me?

Actually lots of people did warn me; yarn reps, other shop owners, employees, customers, random people at Target…
.
They all said I was crazy, how in the world did I think I could pull this off another year.
.
“Have other people knit for you” they said. “People who write books do it all the time, they are called Ghost Writers. You could have Ghost Knitters.” I don’t know, something about it just didn’t seem right. I couldn’t lie to people and tell them I had knit something when I really didn’t. Plus, I couldn’t help anyone with first hand knowledge of having knit it myself. That was half the fun!

But I am sick to death of 12 in 12. Last year was a blast. I really loved knitting the sweaters. I got all the way through November (well that’s not entirely true...see September) until I had a neck injury and couldn’t finish November on time which hurt December. Anyh0000…I loved 10 of the 12 months of 2011!

I should have stopped while I was ahead.

2012 has turned out to not be a big knitting year for me.

September I didn’t even think about until Tuesday when a customer came in to ask what yarn I was using for Zephyr? OMG. I forgot all about the darn 12 in 12! Hummmmmm.

“Oh, September, yes, I am knitting this blanket instead” …I told her.

Blanket yarn on my shoulder makes me happy
.
So…September will have to be knit by my amazing customers instead.

Kate is picking up yarn to make our sample for December on Friday…so…

Looks like I can knit whatever I want the rest of the year huh?

Never fear…we’ll still do 12 in 12 next year. I just may not join in the fun every month. Perhaps we’ll have 12 in 12 volunteer knitters? Hummm? Not a bad idea:)
