We went to UMAGA yesterday.

My friend and fellow shop owner Meg of Alfresco Casual Living has been telling me that I should go to UMAGA since I opened. Maybe I’d find some cool grab and go stuff that people would love.

What does UMAGA even stand for? I googled UMAGA. WWE wrestler? Ummmmm.

I was pretty sure that wasn’t what Meg was talking about:)

There is a gigantic merchandise mart in the western suburbs that houses over 5,000 lines of gift and accessory merchandise. There are over 140 permanent showrooms and at different times of year there are temporary showrooms too.

Now, we thought that deciding what yarn to buy for the shop was tough. We walked around the merchandise mart yesterday in stunned silence. Wowza!

I didn’t take many pictures, my hands were too shaky with anxiety:) But…I did manage to sneak a pic of the Budda and Giraffe. WHA?

We did end up ordering what we came for. Fun coin purses and bags and tins, oh and gum…the funniest little packs of gum:) Cause doesn’t every yarn store need funny packs of gum? Here is a little teaser…we have lots of designs coming.

So, we went to the gift mart. I have total respect for amazing shops like Meg’s. She can look at the 5,000 lines of gifts and accessories and bring in stuff just right for her shop. Maybe next time we’ll tag along behind her! You should like her shop on Facebook by the way.

Oh and I still don’t know what UMAGA stands for…
