I love my birthday, like really, really love my birthday. I try not be annoying or anything, but I really like to celebrate it. I feel like my life gets better and better and I love to look back and celebrate the year that was and get excited about what is to come.
.
I usually plan a party for my birthday, usually it involves tailgating with my friends and family at a Saints game. Doesn’t get much better.
.
.
It is a different sort of year this year. We’re not tailgating this year. This year I get to celebrate at my yarn shop. There are few places in the world I would rather be. So, I get to be at the shop all day today, getting great well wishes from happy yarnie customers.
.
Not only that, but my dad brought my Nanny Jean to the shop today for a rare visit! What an amazing surprise. I’ll admit it…I was weepy!
.
.
.
So, I didn’t mean for this blog post to be all about my birthday:) I meant to update the May sweater…
.
.
Before you say it…I know I should “spit and splice” but I just can’t get myself to do it…I know there are a lot of ends to weave in.
.
.
I am 1/3 the way down the first sleeve. 1 week left to knit.
.
Maybe if I could stop knitting this lace shawl I would finish in time. I am going to put this one aside and finish the sweater. The lace class isn’t until mid june!
.
.
Off to eat some chocolate cake now…
Happy birthday!
(Side note: My husband tried to get me to “bet” on the superbowl the year the Saints won. I’m not a sports person and wouldn’t know Adam from Eve when it comes to teams so I bet on the “Gold Pants People”. Fortunately for me, the Saints won and I got a new messenger bag out of the deal! They’ll always be the “GPs” to me! I also learned what a “down” is.)
happy birthday!!! I can’t wait to come visit your shop again. I need to get some things before we head out of town on Friday.
What pattern is that shawl? I LOVE it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
So wanted to get down to your shop today, but my youngest is not feeling very well. Blessings and I hope that you are having the best of birthdays and that this next year is one full of lots of joy.
The only reason I clicked on the link was to read all about your birthday, but you cut it short and threw in the knitting thing!! What the heck! j/k Happy Birthday, Amy. I’m so glad that you got to visit with your Nanny. (that even made ME weepy – so sweet!). Oh, and thanks for having a beer for me (isn’t that why you’re holding two?) cause you know if I wasn’t working I’d be there boozing it up with you! Ha!!
