Long time no see.

Yes, it’s been a while since I posted on our blog. A few weeks I think? It’s been a February to remember.
.
I had a lot of dedicated knitting time this month, and I finished the February sweater. I used 2.5 skeins of Dream in Color Classy in color Black Parade. As usual, I loved the yarn (you can’t go wrong knitting anything out of Classy). This was the first sweater I knit using our new Chiagoo Red Lace needles and I love them too. I knit the 2nd size. I think it was 37.5.
.
I ended up knitting the sweater without sleeves. It is written with 3/4 sleeves that kind of bell out. I am not a 3/4 sleeve fan. I don’t like how they bunch up in the crook of my arm or bunch up in a jacket. I thought about knitting full length sleeves, but…
.
I did knit front back increases, not lifted. I debated increasing at the eyelet row, but I decided to do it. Actually Carly was sick of me debating it and decided for me. But I did knit front back increases and not the eyelets.
The buttons aren’t right, so I’ll change those out. They are oval and so they never sit level. That bugs me.
.
Since I finished the sweater early, I knit another little thing…
.
The Owlet in Simpliworsted color Natural Olive. It is just as sweet as when I knit it in 2011. This time I knit the size 18-24 months and it took 1.25 skeins of Simpliworsted! Machine wash and dry…not itchy…perfect yarn for a kids sweater.

We just got some sport weight yarn in from Louet too. I started this great summer scarf, Strathcona, to test it out.
.
I’ll let you know! I haven’t ever knit with 100% linen. It is stiff to knit but is supposed to soften up with machine wash and dry. Fascinating!
.
I love the February sweater without sleeves! I was hesitating on knitting that pattern because I didn’t like the sleeves. You’ve inspired me to try it!
Beautiful sweaters! And I can’t wait to hear how the linen yarn turns out – I have my eye on a top for summer that is knit with linen yarn…your scarf looks lovely so far!
