We are excited to have Josh Bennett at the shop to teach this special workshop. Josh is a knitwear designer who has designs in publications like Vogue Knitting magazine and Rowan Magazine.

So…save the date! Sunday, February 26th.

We are going to do two workshops, take your pick of either one…better yet come and stay all day. We’ll bring in box lunches for you!

The first workshop is from 10 -1pm. Custom Knitting is the official title but I think anyone who is interested in sweater knitting should take this workshop. In this class you will learn all the math to be able to start creating your own original designs and also be able to modify existing patterns for different fits. You’ll talk about picking the right fiber, knitting the correct gauge swatch, and measuring the body correctly. Tips and techniques on how to make your garment look more professional.

The second workshop is from Tips and Tricks: Making your Garment Look More Professional. In this class you will learn all Josh’s tips and tricks to making your garment look more professional. He will demonstrate different cast on methods, increases, decreases, body shaping, and other special techniques that he uses when designing for himself and other fashion designers. If you have knit a sweater and found the fit not quite right, this is probably the class for you!

The third option is the Stay all Day Package. You’ll get both of the above classes AND a box lunch from one of our favorite restaurants downtown Stillwater.
