What an incredible fiber community we have here in the Twin Cities. You guys are awesome, but we already knew that.

If you’ll indulge me…

This kind of event is unique to independent businesses (quilt shops, bookstores, yarn shops). You don’t see these kinds of progressive events with big box  businesses.

Why? Because independent businesses are a different kind of retail. We get to know them. Our customers in many cases, become as familiar to us as our families. The other reason you don’t see many progressive events like this in other retail environments – It’s not easy.

It is not easy for 15 entrepreneurs to come together and agree on the same details. We all have our own ideas and personalities. We have owners that have been in the business for 20+ years and owners that are brand new to the business. This is an incredible group of passionate people.

I just wanted to publicly thank all the owners and managers that work so hard to make this event the very best it can be, for all of our shops, and for all of our customers. I appreciate you.

I am challenged and inspired after meeting with these business owners. I am proud to be a part of this unique event and this unique retail community.

We’re already excited for Shop Hop 2019.
