Another year, another 12 sweaters!
.
This time I have help.
.
We are dividing the sweaters up this year so that we stay motivated and we can make sure you stay motivated too!
.
So here’s how it will go down…
.
I (Aimee) will do 4 sweaters, Jennifer will do 4 sweaters, Carly will do 1, Heather will do 1, Amy B will do 1 and Kate will do 1. We hope that with all of us knitting, we’ll keep the blog updated and our attitudes fresh:)
.
We think we’ve chosen some pretty fun sweaters. A few that will challenge you!
.
Jennifer is knitting January and we think it is a super choice. A felted jacket. LOVE! Heroine is available as a Ravelry download.
.
We still have plenty of Cascade 220 worsted yarn in quantities to make this garment. They are all laid out and ready for you to choose from!

I (Aimee) am knitting February and have chosen February Lady Sweater as my first sweater of the year. If you were around in 2009 we did knit this sweater as a knit along and I knit it for my mom. She loves it and so do we. If this sweater has been on your list for a while this might be the perfect time. I am going to knit it out of Dream in Color Classy (we have a bunch of good color options still) or maybe Cascade 220 SW. Love that yarn! Plus you really don’t need much yarn. The small size only takes 750 yards and a 44 inch bust takes only 1000!
.
The sweater is available as a download here. 12,391 people have knit this on Rav…come on!
.
.
Carly…yes Carly…is knitting March. Her 40th birthday month mind you. She has always been planning on knitting one of our sweaters along with all of you but she just hasn’t gotten around to it. So…this month is all about her.
This sweater is a popular one on Rav, originally published in Knitscene in 2006. When DKA wasn’t even a twinkle in my eye:) Download the pattern here.

.
Jennifer is up again in April. How beautiful is this cardigan. Designed by Connie Chang Chinchio, this has been kicking around our potential 12 in 12 list just waiting for the perfect knitter to lead it. Jennifer is on the task. This sweater is knit in a DK weight yarn and is seamed. Gulp. You can do it. we’ll bring in an expert to help us near the end of the month!
.
We have hard copies of the pattern in store, or you can buy it here.
.
.
This pretty pullover is knit in a light fingering weight yarn (the photo above is knit out of Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine. Pretty and light, the perfect late spring/early summer sweater. This is another one of my choices. The pattern isn’t super easy to get. You have to go to the Isager website to download and it isn’t super fast:) Don’t let it deter you! It should be worth it.
.
.
June is another one for me…somehow I got 2 months in a row and looking at Olive again closer I am thinking maybe that wasn’t such a great idea. But June’s sweater, Dark and Stormy, is terrific and you all probably have it in your list already. Knit out of a worsted weight yarn, I can see this being a go to fall sweater!
.
The pattern is available via easy download here.
.
.
Heather chose a great one for her sweater in July. Kara, designed by Cecily Glowik MacDonald. It is knit is a DK yarn and is lacey and pretty. The pattern is available for download here. This should be a great sweater to knit in the heat of summer:)
.
Chambourcin is Jennifer’s next sweater. This is knit out of a fingering weight yarn…any pretty sock yarn would be amazing! It is lacey and knit in the round. Yahoo! You can download the pattern here.
.
.
Our beloved Amy B is knitting September’s sweater. Creature Comforts Cardi designed by Madelinetosh is her pick for a pretty fall sweater. Like most of our sweaters this year, we are sure this one is on your list too:)
.
The pattern is available via download here.
.
.
Downton Pullover is Jennifer’s fourth and final sweater of the year. This is a beautiful tailored sweater knit out of a pretty sport weight yarn. The pattern is knit out of Fresco from Classic Elite and we’ll have that yarn in stock this summer! The pattern is not available via download right now, but is in the Fall 2012 issue of Interweave Knits. We have a bunch in stock right now.
.
.
My last sweater of the year is Aidez. Need I say more? Available for download here.
.
.
Kate is knitting our final sweater of the year. We gave Kate December because if anyone can knit a sweater in the month of December along with all the holiday knitting that happens…it’ll be Kate! This one is knit in one piece with a cool cable collar and detail work. Get your holiday knitting done in November and then knit this with Kate!
.
Download Water and Stone, designed by Veera Valimaki here.
.
We hope you find a sweater or two here to your liking. We love this sweater program and are thrilled to be able to offer it again. There are a few changes to the rules and you can see the rules and regulations here.
.
Download a list of all 12 sweaters here! Let’s knit some sweaters!

Which sweater would you recommend for someone who has never made a sweater before but can knit. I love them all!
