The National Needlearts Association puts on quite a show every year in Columbus, Ohio.  TNNA is the professional association that yarn shop owners, designers and yarn companies join to stay on top of things in our industry.  Every industry has their own association right?  Anyway, imagine the interesting group of people that might be in this group?  Yep…awesome!

This is my first TNNA Conference and am slightly overwhelmed. I got some great tips from Amy Singer of Knitty.com.  That included the important things like where to get great ice cream shop and coffee.    That was super cool.  I was thrilled to meet her.   I ran into Steven Be too and expressed my anxiety about the event.   He said…not an exact quote…”put your big girl panties on and get in there”.  That’s why we love him right?

The first night of the conference is a red carpet reception

A sampling of new yarns from different companies.  This is pretty cool, the yarns are hanging on some racks with samples of each available for you to take with you.  People were taping the pieces of yarn to a booklet so you could remember what the heck they were.  Great idea.  Again…all this is new to me!

A great market where you can buy new things to bring home…I did.  You can come by the shop and see all this fun stuff next week!

Oh, I just read in the conference program (of course I didn’t read anything in advance)  that you can’t take photos on the conference floor.  Oops, wonder if I was supposed to take these pictures of last night?  Strange.  Wonder why?  It’s not like we have government secrets or anything?  So, unless I see other people doing it, I probably won’t have any pictures of the conference.  Bummer. itself.  Bummer cause I am not at all sure how I am supposed to remember all of this stuff!!!
.

Lastly…everywhere you look here people are knitting.  Sitting on the floor at the red carpet reception, at the bar, in the restaurants, on a bench outside on High Street.
