Project in a bag

It’s the season. The season for pulling bags like this out of my yarn closet. How about you?

Now comes the fun part…where was I again?

Hummmm…at least it’s still on the needles (even though I seem to have stopped mid row), and at least I have the pattern and even a few unwound skeins of yarn! Glory be!

It even looks like I attempted to mark something with a blue pencil? That could help decipher it? I’ve held off the sleeves at least!

It’s all coming back to me now, Dark and Stormy by Thea Colman. Knitting it out of Quince Chickadee in Sabine.

Who knows…if the weather cooperates maybe I’ll finish in time for the Great American Wool Festival!  Like to follow stuff on Facebook? Follow the Great American Wool Festival Facebook Event page for updates!

Look Ma…No Pills

We can’t sing the praises of Hikoo Simpliworsted enough.  This yarn is terrific, awesome, amazing.

Dark and Stormy was a sweater I knit for our 12 in 12 in 2013.  It was fun to knit!

Anyway, It’s been in our store as a sample ever since.  It’s been on hangers and on mannequins, it’s been tried on by regulars and tourists.  It’s been washed a few times too. Anyway, I’m bringing it up again now because I have been wearing this Dark and Stormy sweater now for weeks, almost every day actually and no pilling!  None!

Check out that underarm:)  Not a pill in sight.

If you are looking for a yarn for a baby sweater, blanket, afghan, adult sweater, cowl for a teenager, you name it…this is the perfect yarn.

It’s not cheap.  $16 for 140 yards of a plump aran weight acrylic blend yarn, but it is so worth it!

55% Merino Wool
28% Acrylic
17% Nylon
Machine washable
I’ve thrown it in the dryer (on cool)
No itch factor

Check out all the colors here and make something out of it!  You won’t be sorry:)

May Sweater Week 3

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

I’m getting there.
It is a super easy knit.  Boring and super easy.  I am having a hard time being interested in knitting it.
It’s actually so easy that I am trying to go really fast and am being sloppy.

So sloppy that I somehow make this big loop of yarn on the back side?  Weird.

I’m going to rely on really great blocking of this alpaca in the hopes that it will all smooth out:)
I have 9 days left in May and the weekend off, so I think I’ve got this one.
Are you doing June with me?  I get to knit that one too.
Dark and Stormy is the sweater for June.  I haven’t chosen a yarn yet.  Have you?
