I’m not going to sugar coat it.
.
Just going to come right out and say it.
.
I lost the project bag containing my partially knit September Sweater.
.
Yep.
.
Last time I saw it…in a blue bin in our classroom.
.
Have you seen our classroom lately?  Not exactly the picture of neat and orderly.

Another thing that I am just going to come out and say.
.
I am not exactly sad that I lost it.   Um.  Did I say that out loud?
.
Who’s brilliant idea was it anyway to knit a sweater in a month out of sock yarn.  Huh?  Who’s the wise guy?
.
Please don’t judge me.  It has been a crazy few weeks.
.
You might have heard we launched Darn Knit University.  So cool and fun!
.
The lead up to the launch of DKU was overwhelming.  Lots and lots of hours spent doing data entry at night.  We are talking weeks of late nights getting it all figured out.   We are really proud of it and are excited that lots of people are excited to enroll!
.
All was going along swimmingly (except for a few hiccups) Then last week all hell broke loose.  The brilliant company that  hosts my website lost my shopping cart database.   There is more to the story, but I am trying not to dwell on it for fear of tears bursting from my eyeballs.
.
Anyway, last week was spent re – entering all the data to get it back to where it is now.  Still not perfect (it would be great if someone could actually register for a class online sometime soon) but…it is awesome to have all the images and descriptions back up.
.
Needless to say, I needed a break from the crazy that has been my shop life.  So, 3 of my high school girlfriends and I ventured out to enjoy a weekend in the north country.  We headed to Bemidji to see one of my friend’s kids play football for the Bemidji Beavers.

Like most knitters, the thought of a 4 hour one way car ride brings excitement!  WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO KNIT???
.
.
I have to admit that knitting the 12 sweaters this year has been fun, but knitting them feels like work right now.  Especially the sock weight sweater!!  So, I decided not to look very carefully for the missing project bag full of the September sweater and instead knit something that I didn’t have to knit.
.
I chose to knit the Best Friend Sweater from Spud and Chloe.  So cute and Maggie, my 7 year old, will love it.   Knit with Spud & Chloe Sweater yarn (no itch wool and cotton blend) in bright fun colors.  It was a joy to knit on our car ride and the best part was that I didn’t have to do it.

Is it ok for me to NOT finish a 12 in 12?  My catholic guilt is going to set in.  Might have to dig through the classroom today.  hrumph.
