Our July Makers’ League project is the Tolt Folded Bag. It’s a free pattern posted on a blog from a yarn store in Washington state, Tolt Yarn & Wool. You can see the blog post and get the pattern here.

Note!!!  There are 2 different options on the Tolt blog. One is garter stitch with ribbon yarn and US15 needles. We are NOT doing that option!  We are doing the stockinette version of the bag out of Quince & Co Kestrel! I used a US7 needle to get the gauge recommended.

We do not have a printed version of this pattern, it is not our copyright. But we love it so, so much and think you will too, so we think you can handle it:)  It is a VERY simple pattern that is folded up in such a cool way that it makes this awesome shape!

You can either knit this bag in one color, or choose an contrasting color. We suggest if using the contrasting color that you start working it first. Knit the contrasting color for 3-4: then start alternating every 2 rows with the main color. Depending on your gauge, your stripes will end up where they end up:) Finished size is about 16″ x 16″.

We have kit these up with the grey as a base and the natural as a base. If you want something different..just let us know and we’ll check stock!

We added a leather wrap to our bags. Which we think adds a nice finishing touch.
Leather wraps are also available to purchase. Click here to see the leather wraps.

There is a crochet bag much like the knit Tolt Folded Bag. It is called the Masa Bag. Click here to see it on Ravelry. If you are interested in crocheting it instead…let us know and we’ll help you out!

We hope you love the bag and take it Darn.Knit.Anywhere!  The patch says so:)
