The very clever Robbin Firth of Heartfelt Silks has come up with yet another very fun class.

When she brought this hat in and said she felted it, I have to admit I didn’t get it. I thought it was really cute, but I wasn’t sure people would be interested.

Hat on a Ball

So she asked if she could come in and teach me how to make one myself.

OMG!!! This was the most fun thing I have EVER made in this shop. EVER.

It all starts with a ball
.
Layering silk and wool
.
All wrapped up
.
Control top nylons are next! Yep!
.
Soak it in hot water and bag it up
.
Bounce it!
.
Bounce it some more!
.
Let the air out of the ball and take it out
.
Flip it right side out, onto a bowl or hat stand and shape it
.
Get it exactly as you like it and let it dry
.

So, again, Robbin was right. This was so much fun! She is totally right, I’ll admit it. This class is going to fill up fast!
