Finish it Up

Thursday, December 3rd, 2015

finish line

We have unfinished projects in our stash just waiting to be finished.  We’re going to venture a guess that you do too.

Some are halfway done, some have a mistake that we need to pick back and re knit, some just have to be bound off.  All of these are projects that we want to finish but just need a little incentive!

So, we are going to help.  Gather up to 3 projects you want to finish up by the end of February.  Bring your projects to the shop on Sunday, January 3rd from 10am – 5pm or Monday, January 4th from 10am – 8pm.  We’ll record and keep a record of the projects you bring in then you head home and finish up the projects.

Finish one of your chosen projects and bring it into the shop. We’ll enter your name in the drawing for that week.  Every Monday morning we’ll do the drawing and let the winner know. We will have a drawing every week for the 8 weeks from January 11th through February 29th.

The projects don’t have to be yarn from our shop either…any project from your stash that you need extra incentive to finish works for us!

A few rules.
You MUST bring the projects into the shop to get them recorded on one of the 2 days noted above.
You MUST bring the projects into the shop when they are complete.
They MUST be the recorded projects, you can’t switch projects mid game.

That’s it…
Now, get into your stash and figure out what projects you are going to enter!!

GAWF 2015

Monday, October 5th, 2015

We had so much fun at our 2nd annual Great American Wool Festival.

It couldn’t happen without our friends at The Yarnery.  Shelly, Scott and their crew are terrific partners for this fun, casual event. We look forward to many more years to come.  In fact, save the date for next year.  We’re booked for Sunday, September 25th!

Shetland Wool Week @DKA

Monday, August 24th, 2015

baable hat
Carroll can’t stop talking about Shetland Wool Week. If she could, she would be on the next plane, train and boat it takes to get to the Shetland Islands in Scotland.

In it’s 6th year, lucky Shetland Wool Week participants get to take classes and see demos all related to Britain’s famous Shetland Textile Industry.

Carroll isn’t lucky enough to make it to the Shetland Islands this year, but we wanted to give her a taste of it. So, join us on Thursday, Sept 24th from 6-8pm for this fun knit along.  The Baa-ble Hat is the pattern we’ll be knitting and it is free from the Shetland Wool Week website. The $10 registration fee to hold your spot will be available to you as shop credit towards a purchase that evening.

And we’ll have some Shetlandy treats…as soon as we figure out what those things are:)

Come celebrate with us! Click here to reserve your spot.

Carly and I love these:)

Back to School Open House

Monday, August 24th, 2015

Many of us are gearing up to send our kids back to school. Some kids even started school today.

In Somerset, WI, we start back up a week from today.  Our kid’s “back to school open house” is on Wednesday and the kids are excited.  It’s Max’s first year in Middle School and Maggie is more than excited (not) to have him join her there.  They’ll meet their teachers, drop off and pick up supplies.  They’ll find out where their desks will be and who else is in their classes.  You all know the drill.

Anyway, we thought it might be fun to do the same thing at Darn Knit University!

So, on Monday, August 31st from 6-8 we’ll be hosting our first Back to School Open House.  You’ll be able to see all the projects for our Fall Trimester, meet the teachers, get supplies and maybe meet other students who will be enrolling in Darn Knit University too:)  If you can’t come during the evening, we’ll have the projects and supplies on display all day long, we open at 10am!

We welcome beginners!

No reservations or commitment to enroll is necessary for this fun night.  Welcome back to school!
